[icare_text]Welcome to our Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) website. We hope you will find all the necessary information for your visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, our beautiful country where water is of abundance with the Congo basin being the world second largest river basin aside from having five of the national parks in the Congo Rainforest part of the UN World Heritage Sites. We believe your visit be it for tourism or investment in the DRC, your engagement will extend to the Congolese people.
Ambassador François Nkuna Balumuene has been appointed by President Joseph Kabila and as he is responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its consulates in the U.S, he also has the responsibility of representing the interests of the DRC to the American government and its citizens while advancing our nations’ bilateral relations, and serving as the primary liaison between the U.S. and the DRC government in Kinshasa. We believe our relationship with the United States of America is important as we work to foster diplomatic engagement, secure foreign direct investment and contribute to the International community. According to the International Monetary Fund, from 2010-2015, real GDP growth averaged 7.7 percent and despite the global economic crisis we have experienced real GDP growth averaging 2.6 in 2016-17. Here, you will find information pertaining consular services, information for tourist as well as the Congolese Diaspora, about the development in the DRC in addition to official statements from the Government. As we work closely with ANAPI, our country based investment promotion agency, we aim to provide relevant information to those seeking to invest in the Congo. Welcome to DRC Embassy in the USA.[/icare_text]
