Consular cards are now available.
If you applied and received the new biometric passport from the Embassy in Washington DC since their release in 2010, you are entitled to the new Consular card.
The Embassy will need 2 identification photos from you, a photocopy of the identification page of your new biometric passport and a filled application form.
You also need to send a pre-paid envelope for the mailing of the card to you.
There will be no additional charge for the service.
If you are planning on applying for a new biometric passport, please submit 2 identification pictures with your application.
The Embassy will deliver you a Consular card while your passport application is pending.
If you did not initially apply for your new passport at our Washington DC embassy but received it from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kinshasa or a Congolese Embassy in another country, you can still apply for a consular card.
But in such a case, some charges will apply.
You will need to submit a money order of $ with a copy of both the identification page on your biometric passport and the page of your visa to the United States or "green card".
